PRESS RELEASE: Local Latinx nonprofit partners with local fashion house “Utah Latin Runway” to create the first Latinx Runway for Salt Lake City.

This event will highlight Latinx fashion, music, and diverse culture.

Salt Lake City, Utah – This Saturday, Utah will be having its very first Latinx Runway in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, “This event will showcase the amazing Latinx talent that has felt excluded here in Utah for many years” – Utah Latin Runway
The fashion show will elevate Latinx designers and businesses while providing a platform to show local fashion designs and talent. Utah Latin Runway (ULR) aims to ensure Latin designers and other professionals are seen by the fashion industry and the public. The event will also feature a local Colombian musician Yenis Roberts and offer various resources for the Latinx community.
A percentage of the proceeds from this fashion show will go towards Alliance Community Services, a nonprofit organization here in Salt Lake City that offers resources to the Latinx Community. These funds will support their Spanish cancer support group Triunfadoras. During the fashion show, several Triunfadoras will be walking and showcasing a unique scarf designed to show the barriers they overcame from being Latinx and diagnosed with cancer.
“Our Triunfadoras group is a group of Latina women who have recently migrated to the U.S. and who are at different stages with their cancer diagnosis. Many of the Triunfadoras are here alone and experience unique barriers while navigating the health system. We started this group to support these women and to make sure that no one experiences cancer alone” – Sarah Carbajal, Health Director at Alliance Community Services.
Utah Latin runway (ULR) will be Utah’s first fashion show to focus solely on Latinx designers, models, and music. ULR will be hosting this first runway this Saturday at 4:00 PM; the show will be held at The Gateway Plaza and will showcase over 9 Latinx, Utah-based designers during this fashion show. This event will follow all COVID-19 pre-cautions and will mandate masks.  You can learn more about this event by visiting https://utahlatinrunway.com/
